Premonition (Triptych)
Premonition (Triptych)
A photo encaustic original artwork, this triptych measures 36x36”, with each vertical panel 12” wide by 36” high. It is wired and ready to hang. This piece was created as part of a small mini-series of 4 works, each incorporating thorns as an element, and telling part of the story of the Garden of Eden. The others in the series are Consequences, Thorn in the Grass, and September in Eden (sold, now part of Group Health’s collection).
Panel edges are painted a satin-gloss black and can be framed in a float frame or hung as is - the presentation is sleek, and eye catching.
The encaustic surface is quite textured and really shines when highlighted by side-lighting. Special note: as encaustic is primarily a wax medium, it can be difficult to photograph. It has a soft, luminous, slightly opaque quality that can appear dull when photographed straight on.
